From International Space Station to Powell River Students
On Thursday, October 22, 2009 media representatives are invited to the Brooks Secondary School in Powell River, British Columbia, to witness an out-of-this-world conversation.
Students from School District 47 will have the unique opportunity to ask their questions to Canadian Space Agency (CSA) astronaut Robert Thirsk while he is in space. Astronaut Thirsk will be going back to his roots since he attended Grief Point Elementary School in Powell River when he was a young boy. Some of his former teachers have been invited to attend the event.
Journalists who cannot be on site will be able to watch the event live on this website: http://www.asc-csa.gc.ca.
The above video is from a recent news conference that Mr. Thirsk and the other astronauts held aboard the Space Station. Robert Thirsk is in the front row on the right hand side of screen.
The nine crew members aboard the International Space Station answer questions from FOX News and the St. Petersburg Times reporters on Oct. 7 as they continue handover operations from the Expedition 20 resident crew to the newly arrived Expedition 21 crew.
